Western Theme Backyard Party

Western Theme Backyard Party.... Fall is the perfect time to try this oneEveryone loves an outdoor picnic A few years ago, we decided that we wanted to kick things up a notch and planned a western themed picnic. This is not a new garden party idea, but it's always fun to come up with new creative twists.
Our Backyard Party- We had some exchange students from China over to the house the day we had our western theme backyard party. That put a whole new perspective on this event, let me tell you! The sun was shining, it was early summer, and the gardens were just beginning to fill in. Our families, both kids and adults were invited (about 20 in all) and everyone had a great time. We sent out invitations and asked that the guests come in their favorite cowboy or cowgirl attire. What a hoot. They did! We played horse shoes, had a shoe kicking contest and burlap sack races. Everyone can join in the activities, from young to not so young. Here are some ideas for you to plan and host your own unique Western Days BBQ. This party is really easy to pull together, so give it a try. Remember to pull the party into your yard and gardens for a beautiful backdrop. And don’t forget to have the camera on hand. The pictures from this party will be keepers!
