This is one of the most popular bedding plants. Who doesn't know and love these bright, hardy ,noble flowers?

The leaves are scalloped and curly;a perfect complement to the showy flowers that can be single or double headed.

The foliage is varigated or not, depending on the variety.

This truly is a staple for any garden . Sometimes called zonal geraniums, the species lends itself to garden beds, container flower gardens, and hanging baskets using a trailing geranium (ivy geranium). Grow in full sun but they don't like the hot afternoon sun.

Uses

  • Use in hanging baskets in full sun - but water often

  • Attracts hummingbirds

  • Use in cut flowers arrangements

  • Use red flowers in formal garden design with boxwood and white roses

  • For a striking potted garden, use the bright red variety with lime green sweet potato vine,spike,and white heliotrope

    Care

    Like cool conditions,and moist well drained soil.Add mulch around the base of the plants so that the roots stay cool and moist. If planted in a container or hanging basket-remember to check the plants daily and water when necessary.
