  • Fall Garden Calendar

Indian Summer is here, and that signals us to start preparing the gardens for winter and even to plan ahead to the springtime by planting bulbs in containers or in the ground.I've given a few ideas of the jobs to do this time of year. A successful garden takes work, and there seems to be just as many garden tasks in the fall as there are in the springtime.

It's a bittersweet time of year. I enjoy reflecting on the good times that I had over the summer, remembering the first blooms of spring and feeling accomplished by a new summer garden. I look through my garden journal - at the success of the summer, and also taking notes on where I'm planting the spring bulbs, or sketching ideas for next year.Fall color can be beautiful too .

Transform your summer containers into fall planters with a few easy steps, using things you may have in your yard or gardens.
