Garden Journal Sample

Garden Journal Sample CoverMaking your own personalized garden journal is another creative outlet. You can be as simple or as detailed as you want. This is for you - so go ahead and get creative! I made a simple cover using a stamp, a computer generated title, and some scrap booking paper. It easily slides into the front pocket of the binder. I intentionally made it look worn, and dirty , like me when I'm in the garden!

Most gardeners are creative and crafty in other areas too - so if you are like most of us , you probably have these materials lying around your craft room or home office. If not- they're inexpensive to buy.

I like to keep my pages simple - using only the Entry Date and Notes sections.
That way I don't feel intimidated to begin writing , or obligated to fill in any blanks that may not pertain to my thoughts for the day.
Having an open page makes it easy to keep up with and write more often without pressure; I just write in the days that I feel like it ....

The plastic pockets make it easy to hold my magazine ideas and clippings. I can put my own drawings and notes right across from the article that inspired me. I used to put my scrap paper notes or magazine pictures that I clipped to save for later, into a file folder. Now I found that incorporating them right into the Garden Journal is a lot easier and neater than a file folder . And I always know where they are.
