Coleus
Coleus is an old longstanding favorite among gardeners for both indoor and outdoor color . Sometimes called Painted Nettle, these plants like moist soil and partial shade. This is also an easy indoor plant to grow.
The color of the foliage ranges from bright chartreuse to fabulous varigated leaf patterns in salmon, burgundy and greens.
The flower is small and not very exciting; it's the leaves of the plant that will add texture and vibrancy to your garden .
Simply pinch off the incoming flowers to promote new branches of foliage .

Leaves are usually varigated in colors of green,chartreuse,yellow,salmon,orange,red,purple, or brown.
Blooming Period
Summer through Fall- Pinch off and bring the plants indoors for the winter.
Height
Varieties can grow from 6 inches to 24 inches
Uses
Use in moist areas with part sun and part shade
Beautiful mixed with solid white flowers in planters or container gardens
Sturdy and reliable to use as garden edging along a walkway
Wherever low maintenance color is needed
Cuttings can be taken from the indoor plants. Allow about 4-6 weeks for a good root sytem to develop before planting outdoors.
